Jane has a Degree in Visual Communication from the University of South Australia and a Diploma in Marketing, J.P.Young & Assoc. Born in Adelaide, Australia, Jane has worked as an art director in advertising for thirteen years in London, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. She began working as a full-time artist in 2002.
Jane pares down her subject to its barest essentials, and her focus is on mood and capturing the atmosphere of precise times of the day. Through the fluid application of paint, surface textures give way to depths of colour. The works are heavy with textural layers and sculptured definition.
Her striking sculptural abstract artworks are created on Belgian linen or canvas, incorporating fluid acrylic strokes with a multitude of mixed media layering. Jane’s artwork is extensive, including sculpture, portraits of prominent wine industry figures, abstracts and landscapes.
